While I deal with a lot of personal "stuff" and am not in any real state to report here is a round up of what is going on in Thanet.
The debate on TDC managing to web cast meetings (at last) takes an odd turn in which the printed media come in for a lashing from a Conservative Party councillor.

Former hotel goes up in flames More than 40 firefighters have been called to a former hotel in Margate that has gone up in flames. Crews were called to the building on Sweyn Roadjust after 5am today (Saturday). Several floors and the roof of the building, which was being converted intoflats,havecaught light.
Good news for the Kent couple taken by Somali pirates. While not the release we are all hoping for it is a possitive sign I think.

Apparently it is news that a family are happy to have the house of local killer Peter Tobin. Anyone who is supprised does not understand the depth of need in Thanet. The low-brow rags seem to be making a meal of it as usual.
